Export Builder started with a tax return. A Commerce project needed the same revenue, VAT, discount, shipping and refund data out of Craft every time. What began as custom work became a repeatable export workflow for any team.
The reason was practical: for a tax return we had to get data out of Craft Commerce in exactly the shape the bookkeeping needed. The standard export produced a file, but not the fixed selection, column names and order we reused every period.
A one-off script solves that month. The month after, the same work starts again. So we made the export itself a reusable part of Craft: compose it once, save it, and run it from then on without writing code again.
Pick the source, select fields and relations, rename the columns and lock in the filters. The result is a template the whole team can use from the control panel.
The accounting preset in Pro turns every completed Commerce order into one auditable row. Amounts stay visible separately, so the export lines up with the bookkeeping instead of having to be repaired in a spreadsheet first.
The preset keeps the financial parts apart and carries the order currency along too.

Export Builder also makes templates for entries, users, categories, tags and assets. Pro adds Commerce orders, products and variants, plus submissions from Formie and Wheelform.
CSV and JSON cover the day-to-day exchange. Pro adds XLSX and Craft-native XML, together with schedules, delivery routes and importable template configuration, so the same export can travel from development to production.
